Screenings Offered:

  • Stroke/Carotid Artery Screening: This procedure is an ultrasound evaluation of the carotid arteries that screens for buildup of fatty plaque—the leading cause of strokes.

Cost: $60 

  •     Heart Rhythm Screening (Atrial Fibrillation): A quick and easy test using EKG electrodes placed on the arms and legs to identify the presence or absence of an irregular heartbeat at the time of the screening.

Cost: $60

  • Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening: Ultrasound is used to screen for the presence of an aneurysm in the abdominal aorta that could lead to a ruptured aortic artery.

Cost: $60

  • Peripheral Arterial Disease Screening: Evaluates for peripheral arterial disease (plaque buildup) in the lower extremities. It is 4-5 times more likely you will die from heart disease if you have peripheral artery disease.

Cost: $60

  • Osteoporosis Risk Assessment: An ultrasound measurement of the heel bone to determine abnormal bone mass density. Osteoporosis is painless and silent in its early stages.

Directions to Hamstead Acres

From Snow Hill: Take Highway 13 South towards Goldsboro. You will drive approximately 9 miles out of Snow Hill on Hwy 13 before you near the Wayne County line.  Look for Rodell Barrow Rd. and take a LEFT onto this road. Drive about .3 miles and take the next left onto Harper Ham Road.  Hamstead Acres will be up the road about .3 miles on the right.  You will pull down a gravel driveway to park, look for signs.

From Goldsboro: Take Highway 13 North out of Goldsboro.  You will drive approximately 10 miles out of Goldsboro before you near the Greene County Line.  Look for Rodell Barrow Rd. (just past a warehouse on the right).  Take a RIGHT on Rodell Barrow Rd. Drive about .3 miles and take the next left onto Harper Ham Road.  Hamstead Acres will be up the road about .3 miles on the right.  You will pull down a gravel driveway to park, look for signs.

 

From Kinston: Take Highway 258 North to Snow Hill.  Once you reach Snow Hill, turn left at the stoplight at Kingold Blvd./Hwy 13.  You will take this road (Highway 13) out of Snow Hill and drive approximately 9 miles out of town, staying straight. .  Look for Rodell Barrow Rd. and take a LEFT onto this road. Drive about .3 miles and take the next left onto Harper Ham Road.  Hamstead Acres will be up the road about .3 miles on the right.  You will pull down a gravel driveway to park, look for signs.
